Kevin

After 17 years as an autism specialist in the Bay Area, Kevin suffered a minor back injury that turned into a blood and bone infection. After months of hospitalization and being non-ambulatory, Kevin needed something to get his body back together. After discovering CrossFit, he was hooked. Since then, he’s moved back to his home town of Carpinteria with his wife and three young girls, started two CrossFit boxes (with a third in the works), and, thanks to CrossFit, he’s stronger and healthier than ever.

Leah

Leah has tried running, gymnastics, exercise fads, diets, even going full vegan, but none of it worked for her. When she found weightlifting her body responded, and she excelled. At age 21 she became a certified personal trainer and for the next 10 years it was her great passion. However, severe leg and back pain were taking their toll on her ability to get through the day. Weights weren’t enough.

Then came CrossFit, and for its first couple of years she thought, “Just a fad, it will pass.”

Then she tried it, and by day 2 of On Ramp with Kevin, Leah was sold. CrossFit was everything she had been looking for and more than she’d hoped. Paleo was the right diet and the CrossFit programming turned her into the kind of athlete she always aspired to be: healthy, pain-free, and strong.

Jeremy

Jeremy Salgado is the trainer you’re looking for. Currently pursuing a degree in Exercise and Movement Science, Jeremy has been involved with athletics, sports and exercise his entire life. In early 2010 he was introduced to CrossFit by Kevin.

After his first WOD, he quit the “Globo-Gym” workouts and committed to CrossFit programming. He was certified in 2011 and started coaching almost immediately. Jeremy is dedicated to teaching and motivating people to reach a higher level of fitness.
